Zeitfracht’s Acquisition of A Substantial Stake in VEMAG Verlags- und Medien AG

GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB advised Zeitfracht on the transaction.

The Berlin-based Zeitfracht Group has acquired a substantial stake in the Cologne-based publishing group VEMAG Verlags- und Medien Aktiengesellschaft from several shareholders.

The transaction has already been cleared by the German Federal Cartel Office. Through this transaction, Zeitfracht will gradually take control of VEMAG. The parties involved are keeping the details of the transaction confidential.

VEMAG owns well-known book brands such as Delphin (picture books, non-fiction, children’s books), Naumann & Göbel (cookbooks, guidebooks, gift books) and Schwager & Steinlein (children’s books). VEMAG also holds a stake in CE Community Editions, in which Bastei Lübbe also has a stake. Most recently, VEMAG achieved total sales of around EUR 62 million.

The Zeitfracht Group is an owner-managed family business in its third generation with a national and international focus. As a logistics service provider operating for over 90 years, Zeitfracht is active in the national and international logistics industry and is one of the leading providers of system transport in Germany and Europe.
