Argos Group finalized the sale of its 50% interest in Compañía de Puertos Asociados S.A., (Compas S.A.) for $135 Million to WSIP Port Holdings II Ltda.
Grupo Argos S.A., an infrastructure investment company, engages in cement, energy, concessions, and real estate businesses. The company, led by Jorge Mario Velásquez Jaramillo, Alejandro Piedrahita, Ricardo Andrés Sierra, Juan Esteban Calle Restrepo and Mauricio Ossa, is based in Medellín.
WSIP Port Holdings II Ltda is a fund managed by Goldman Sachs.
Compañía de Puertos Asociados S.A. (Compas) is a network of multipurpose public ports created in Colombia in 2012 from a strategic alliance of Argos Group and Southern Port Holding Inc, which provides logistic services of loading/unloading and stevedoring of ships, either containers or bulk; loading and unloading of trucks and containers; specialized storage and handling of cargo; and international transshipment services. Based in Cartagena de Indias, Compas owns 6 Latin American terminals, 5 in Colombia and 1 in Panama.
