Volvo Group’s Acquisition Of A Majority Stake In Designwerk Technologies

CMS advised Designwerk Technologies on the deal, while Pestalozzi advised Volvo Autonomous Solutions AB.

Volvo Autonomous Solutions AB, a company within the Volvo group and subsidiary of Aktiebolaget Volvo, has acquired 60% of the shares in Swiss company Designwerk Technologies. Volvo plans to use the acquisition to complement and expand its current portfolio of pioneering technologies around electromobility. The investment is part of Volvo’s corporate strategy to offer climate neutral transport solutions in all product segments. Designwerk Technologies will remain an independent company. Completion of the deal is expected in the coming weeks. The parties agreed not to disclose details.

Designwerk Technologies AG, based in Winterthur (Switzerland), specialises in innovative projects and products in the electromobility segment. The company’s product range includes fully electric trucks under the Futuricum brand, mobile rapid chargers, modular battery systems and more than 100 electromobility projects.
