Viacom International Media Networks Italia’s Acquisition Of The Remaining 50% Interest In Super Broadcast srl


Shearman & Sterling advised Viacom International Media Networks Italia in the acquisition.

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN has acquired the 50% of Super Broadcast S.R.L, which owns and operates the free-to-air (FTA) kids’ TV channel, Super, that it does not already own from De Agostini Editore.

The move adds the channel to Viacom Italy’s portfolio. Super! is a free-to-air kids channel in Italy focused on children ages 4-14 with a catalogue of local and International content.

De Agostini Editore will continue to collaborate with VIMN Italy providing De Agostini’s original content to the channel.

Through the acquisition of Super! Viacom in Italy will extend its reach to more than 35 million viewers per month.

Viacom already owns and operates three free-to-air digital terrestrial TV channels in Italy – Paramount Network, Spike, VH1 – and also owns 11 channels distributed on pay TV platform Sky Italia, including MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and Nick Jr., which are all.
