Veolia NV-SA’s Acquisition of Upgrade Bio Energy

Veolia NV-SA acquired the organic waste biogas plant: Upgrade Bio Energy, enabling Veolia’s expansion of its scope of activities and further growth in the port of Antwerp.

The world leader in resource management, will take on the operation of the Antwerp-based biogas plant and generate 100% green electricity from biogas derived from waste. The power will be used on site by an industrial client. In this way, Veolia is supporting the sustainable development strategy of its industrial client. In addition, the plant enables the local production of high-quality fertilisers to be scaled up.

The plant in the port of Antwerp has a capacity of 60,000 tonnes, and will generate 100% green electricity from biogas derived from waste.
