VanEck Europe GmbH’s Licence To Operate As A Financial Services Institution

Simmons & Simmons has advised VanEck (Europe) GmbH on the process to operate as a licensed financial services institution.

Van Eck is a subsidiary of Van Eck Associates Corporate, an investment management company founded in 1955, and headquartered in New York. Van Eck Associates was one of the first asset managers to offer investors access to global markets, identifying new trends and asset classes- such as gold investments (1968) and ETFs (2006).

As of 21 July 2020, VanEck was licensed by BAFin to provide financial services in the form of investment advice and brokerage in Europe.

The Simmons team was led by financial markets partner, Dr Harald Glander (Picture) and supervising associate Daniel Lühmann, out of the firm’s Frankfurt base.
