The J.M. Smucker Company’s $285 million acquisition of Wesson oil brand from Conagra


Jones Day is acting as Antitrust counsel to Conagra Brands, Inc. in the $285 million sale of its Wesson oil brand to The J.M. Smucker Company.

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including the receipt of any applicable regulatory approvals.

Wesson is an iconic edible oil in the U.S., with product offerings including vegetable, canola, corn and blended oils. Under the terms of the agreement, Conagra will continue to make the products sold under the Wesson brand and provide certain other transition services for up to one year following the close of the transaction.
