The Gap, Inc.’s $35 million acquisition of Janie and Jack

Orrick has advised The Gap, Inc. (NYSE: GPS) on its $35 million purchase of Janie and Jack, a premium children’s fashion line with over 100 retail stores in the United States and an e-commerce site, from Gymboree Group.

In addition to the acquisition, Gap agreed to purchase the Janie and Jack inventory. Janie and Jack will continue to operate as a standalone brand based in San Francisco.

The Gap, Inc. is an international specialty retailer operating retail and outlet stores. The Company, led by Arthur L Peck, Sally Gilligan and Mark Breitbard, sells casual apparel, accessories, and personal care products for men, women, and children. In 2018 The gap recorded $17 billion Revenues.
