Tentamus Group’s Investment in Lambda Científica and Actitum

DLA Piper has advised Tentamus Group on the deal.

Tentamus Group executed an investment in Lambda Científica, S.A. de C.V. (Lambda) and Actitum MDC, S. de R.L. de C.V. (Actitum), leading analytical laboratories in the pharmaceutical sector in Mexico. With this new alliance, Tentamus is building the foundation for Tentamus Mexico to establish a foothold as well as a platform in Latin America. 

Lambda is an independent laboratory providing microbiological and chemical analyses for the pharmaceutical industry, in particular supporting customers in drug analysis, analysis of raw materials, dissolution profiles, validation and transfer of analytical methods and stability studies. The laboratories and offices are located in Mexico City, with more than 80 collaborators and specialized chemists. Additionally, through Actitum, Lambda’s subsidiary which has been acquired in the course of the transaction, the medical device industry is serviced and supported. 

Tentamus Group GmbH was founded in 2011 and is a global product and safety group with a core presence in Europe, UK, Israel, China, Japan, India and the USA. Accredited and licensed Tentamus Group tests, audits and consults on all products involving the human body (food & feed, pharmaceuticals & medical, agrosciences, cosmetics, agriculture & environment, and nutraceutical & supplements). The company is represented in over 80 locations worldwide. More than 3,000 highly-trained staff members work in over 3 million square feet of laboratory and office spaces.

As part of Tentamus’ strategy to broaden its portfolio of services that support pharmaceutical and biotech customers worldwide and to expand with additional investments in food and agricultural services companies in India, DLA Piper has inter alia advised the Tentamus Group on two successful transactions in India in 2019 and 2020.
