Tencent's $1.4 Billion Acquisition of a Minority Stake in Voodoo

Latham & Watkins advised Tencent, while White & Case LLP advised Goldman Sachs on the deal.

Goldman Sachs, through its West Street Capital VII Funds, acted as a partner of hyper-casual mobile gaming Voodoo, on the entry of Chinese conglomerate Tencent into Voodoo’s capital.

The completion of the transaction, which remains subject to the approval of the relevant competition authorities, will see Voodoo become the ninth French unicorn – a startup company valued at more than US$1 billion.
