Standard Chartered’s Strategic Investment In Linklogis

Slaughter and May advised Standard Chartered on its strategic investment in Linklogis, China’s leading supply chain financing platform.

Standard Chartered aims at enhacing its joint supply chain ecosystem proposition and provide suppliers with access to affordable and convenient financing. The transaction was announced on 9 January 2020.

It marks Standard Chartered’s first investment in a supply chain platform in China, as well as the first global bank investor in Linklogis. The purchase of the equity stake also builds on Standard Chartered’s ongoing partnership with Linklogis, which started in February 2019 with the signing of a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop and deliver a supply chain financing proposition, and the completion of several joint deep-tier supply chain financing transactions.

Standard Chartered PLC is a British multinational banking and financial services company headquartered in London, England.

Slaughter and May team included Chris McGaffin (Picture), Rahul Mehta (associate), Cynthia Ng (associate), Nicholas White (trainee solicitor). It supported Standard Chartered’s internal legal team for the transaction, led by Jordan Kent and Gary Hau.
