Sports Authority’s Chapter 11

Irell & Manella LLP successfully represented TSA Caribe, a subsidiary of retail giant Sports Authority, as special counsel in connection with the company’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

On December 5, Judge Mary Walrath of the Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware confirmed the plan of liquidation. The judge was highly complimentary of the firm and its success at bringing all of the competing claimants together to support a fully consensual plan of reorganization. Irell is now implementing the plan, which involves creation and funding of a Delaware Liquidating Trust.
