Soriana v. Federal Competition Commission (COFECE)

Galicia advised Soriana in the case

Soriana secured legal protection from a federal court in mexico against provisions of COFECE requests connected to the acquisition of the rival Controladora Comercial Mexicana (CCM).

COFECE had demanded that Soriana should abstain from buying Comercial Mexicana’s stores in 27 points, arguing concerns over possible risks to local competition that could reasonably lead to a hike in prices, hurting consumers.
