Sofinnova Partners’s €3.2 million investment in Belgian agro-biotech company Agrosavfe NV

Sofinnova Partners has invested EUR 3.2 million in Agrosavfe NV, a Belgian agro-biotech company located in Ghent.

AgroSavfe NV announced that it extended its Series B financing round to €11 million. Sofinnova joins other investors including Gimv, VIB, PMV and Rudi Mariën.

The funds will be used to accelerate the development of the Company’s novel Agrobodies® as a new generation of biopesticides and to roll out the international registration proces.

Agrosavfe was established in 2013 as a spin-off from VIB (Flemish Institute for Biotechnology) and develops camelid binding domains, or Agrobodies®, for diverse applications in agriculture.

Eubelius has advised Sofinnova in respect of its investment in Agrosavfe with a team led by Matthias Wauters (picture) and Robin Van Gysel.
