Skandia and Folksam’s €440 Million Investment on PCP Transition Fund

Wigge & Partners advised Skandia and Folksam on the deal.

P Capital Partners, a credit fund focusing on sustainability, has received capital commitments from Andra AP-fonden (AP2) and insurance company Folksam, as well as KPA Pension, SEB-Stiftelsen and insurance company Skandia. Skandia invested EUR 150 million as well as Folksam on its EUR 290 million investment.

Both Skandia and Folksam participated in the first close and are two of the largest investors.

The new credit strategy will finance and support the transition to sustainability for mid-sized companies in Europe.

It will support and partner with firms whose business models contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, cutting down on the use of limited natural resources, or protecting biodiversity.

The P Capital Partners Transition fund will lend €10m to €100m per transaction to mid-sized companies with proven business models in the Nordics and Germany, but also in Ireland, Benelux and the UK.

PCP is providing capital to entrepreneurial and family-owned businesses in need of capital to fund growth or restructuring. Over the last 20 years the firm has raised almost €5bn and invested in over 130 companies.
