Carey adivised Inversiones MPD on the deal
After a reorganization of its activities in Latin America, and a strong desire to accelerate its development in the South American market, SICAME GROUP, a world leader in accessories and services tied to the transmission and distribution of electric energy has confirmed its ambitions with the acquisition of the Chilean group COMULSA.
Created in 1981, the COMULSA Group is a distributor of electrical products which, due to its dynamism in the market, has become one of the leaders in Chili with a turnover of approximately 20 Million dollars and represents over 50 brands. The Group, with its historical headquarters in Santiago exists also in Peru and in Columbia. For over 40 years, the company has enriched its offering by extending its services to include testing undertaken in its laboratories as well as its training centres via its subsidiaries UNDERFIRE and UFESA. Clearly focused on new technologies, COMULSA fully integrates the rapid evolution of the world of energy towards smart and decentralized networks.
For the Group, the acquisition of COMULSA will allow for the acceleration of its commercial development by the distribution of its products of its various affiliates into Latin America and increase its capability of proposing packaged offers in the region. Equally, COMULSA will be able to further strengthen its services such as training, testing or advice.
