Schneider Electric’s $2,004 Million (INR 14,000 crores) Acquisition of Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) electrical and automation business

Khaitan & Co advised Temasek International Pte. Ltd. on the deal

Schneider Electric has entered into a definitive agreement with Larsen & Toubro, a leading Indian conglomerate, to acquire its electrical & automation business for an all-cash consideration of Rs 14,000 crore.

Schneider Electric has formed a consortium with Singapore’s state investment firm Temasek Holdings for the transaction.

After the transaction is completed, Schneider Electric will have a 65% stake in the company, while the remainder will be held by Temasek.

Schneider Electric India Private Limited engages in energy management and automation business specialising in manufacturing of low voltage and medium voltage electricals.
