Scatec Solar and Equinor’s Acquisition of Guañizuil IIA solar power plant

Bruchou, Fernández Madero & Lombardi and Nicholson y Cano advised on the deal

A consortium, formed by Scatec Solar and oil group Equinor (formerly known as Statoil), finalized the acquisition of a 117 MW Guañizuil II A project solar project from Martifer Renewables SGPS SA.

The project is located in the province of San Juan and will sell electricity to the Electricity Wholesale Market Administrator, CAMMESA, for 20 years at a price of $50/MWh.

The consortium plans to start construction by the end of this year, with completion scheduled for the end of 2019. The $95 Million project will be owned 50% by Scatec and 50% by Equinor.
