Scandinavian Tobacco Group A/S has acquired a majority stake in Moderno Opificio del Sigaro Italiano – M.O.S.I., a company that, with its approximately 40 employees operating in the Orsago plant, produces high quality cigars with a blend of Italian tobacco and American Kentucky, grown on plantations in the Northern Italy and the United States of America.
M.O.S.I. was founded in 2013 by the Pietrella family and has gained a significant share of the Italian market for traditional machine-rolled cigars.
Scandinavian Tobacco Group A/S was assisted for the legal and contractual aspects by the Danish firm Kromann Reumert with its partner Kumaran Thavarajah and associate Markus Ulrik Leding and by Cocuzza & Associati with its naming partner Claudio Cocuzza and senior associate Patrizio Cataldo.
The Pietrella family retains a minority shareholding in M.O.S.I. and was assisted by Russo De Rosa Associati with the partner Gianmarco Di Stasio (Picture), associato Alberto Greco and avvocato Greta Calcagnile, for the contractual aspects and for the assistance at closing.
