Reuben Brothers’ Acquisition of Surrey Hotel

Olshan Frome Wolosky LLP represented the Surrey Hotel in the transaction.

Billionaire British brothers David and Simon Reuben completed the acquisition of The Surrey Hotel. Located at 20 East 76th Street, the hotel is at the heart of the high end upper east side market. The hotel was the subject of a very unusual involuntary bankruptcy filing by the leasehold mortgagee against its own borrower.

Olshan Frome Wolosky LLP represented the Surrey Hotel with Bankruptcy partners Adam Friedman (Picture) and Jonathan Koevary, with litigation partners Lori Marks-Esterman and Peter Sartorius. Real Estate partners Thomas Kearns, Hyman Kindler, and associate Vesna Naidoo-Chinsammy advised on the sale, assisted by of counsel Martin Cooper, litigation associate Joseph Weiner, real estate associate Bryan Anderson, and summer associate Joe Ferrone.
