Reifenhäuser Group’s acquisition of EDS GmbH


Osborne Clarke has advised the owner of EDS GmbH, Johannes P. Müller, on its takeover by Reifenhäuser Group.

EDS GmbH will operate within the Reifenhäuser Group as a separate independent business unit. With this acquisition, Reifenhäuser will further expand its existing expertise in die production and significantly strengthen the design know-how for die and film tools.

Based in North Rhine-Westphalia, EDS GmbH is a leading supplier of high-end extrusion tools and a flat dies specialist.

Founded in 1911, the Reifenhäuser Group is now the leading provider of innovative technologies and components for plastics extrusion. The company has around 1,500 employees and is based in North Rhine-Westphalia.

A team lead by Corporate Partner Dr Björn Hürten (picture) advised EDS GmbH on this transaction. He was assisted by Efthimios Detsikas (Corporate), Annabel Lehnen (Employment law), Janos Mahlo (Real estate law), Florian Merkle (Tax law) and Dr Sebastian Hack (Competition law).
