Rede D’Or’s Acquisition of Perinatal

Pinheiro Guimarães advised the selling shareholders in the transaction.

Rede D’Or São Luiz, the largest privately owned hospital operator group in Brazil, acquired Perinatal maternity units and neonatal intensive care unities for an undisclosed value.

Closing of the transaction is still subject to approval by Brazilian antitrust authorities.

Rede D’Or was founded in 1977 and operates more than 40 hospitals accross Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Brasília, Pernambuco, Maranhão and Bahia.

Perinatal was founded by 1985 and was controlled by a group of doctors, Grupo Santa Joana.

Rede D’Or used in-house counsel for the deal, with a team led by Mauro Sampaio and Bruno Franco.

Pinheiro Guimarães advised the selling shareholders with a team led by Rene Mostardeiro Brunet (Picture), Plinio Pinheiro Guimarães and Roberto Thedim Duarte Cancella, and associates Vitor Lopes Horta and Pedro Amaral Ibiapina Parente
