Post Holdings’ $85 Million Acquisition of TreeHouse Foods’ Ready-to-Eat Cereal Business

TreeHouse Foods (NYSE: THS) closed its definitive agreement and completed sale of its ready-to-eat (RTE) cereal business to Post Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: POST) for a purchase price of $85 million.

As part of the terms of the transaction, Post will acquire the entirety of the RTE business based in St. Louis, Missouri, which includes two manufacturing plants in Lancaster, Ohio and Sparks, Nevada and a research and development facility in Sauget, Illinois.

Post is a Missouri-based consumer packaged goods holding company operating in the center-of-the-store, refrigerated, food service, food ingredient, and convenient nutrition food categories. Its businesses include Post Consumer Brands, Weetabix, Michael Foods, Bob Evans Farms and BellRing Brands.

TreeHouse Foods is a leading manufacturer and distributor of private label packaged foods and beverages in North America.
