Palmarium Group’s acquisition of Lebara Group, one of the fastest growing pan-European mobile companies


Froriep assisted Palmarium Group, acting through their Dutch subsidiary VIEO B.V., in the acquisition of the entire stake in Lebara Group, one of the fastest growing pan-European mobile companies.

Lebara was founded in 2001 by Ratheesan Yoganathan as an ethnic MVNO, selling SIM cards aimed at international communities and migrant workers. It sells through 275,000 outlets with a customer base of more than 3.5 million and operations in eight countries.

Froriep led the M&A negotiations and acted as overall co-ordinator for the related bond issue, alongside AKD Netherlands who was the co-lead in the closing of the bond financing and the acquisition.

Froriep’s team was headed by Catrina Luchsinger (Partner, in picture) and Mark Montanari (Counsel) with the support of Dunja Koch and Rinon Memeti.
