NSW Police Force’s Partnership with Mark43

Maddocks advised NSW Police Force on the procurement of new Integrated Policing Operating System.

On 1 March 2021, NSW Police Force Commissioner Michael Fuller signed a contract with US-based public safety software provider Mark43, for the procurement by NSW Police Force of Mark43’s core operational technology solution and associated services.

The contract concludes a rigorous two-and-a-half year multi-staged and large-scale procurement process for an Integrated Policing Operating System (IPOS), which will include call-taking, dispatch, records, investigations and forensics modules.

The new ‘best of breed’ cloud-native solution is expected to significantly transform and modernise the way NSW Police Force conducts its operations, enabling NSW Police Force’s 18,000 police officers to more efficiently and effectively respond to emergencies, investigate crimes and protect NSW’s nearly 8 million residents. The new solution will replace NSW Police Force’s 27-year-old central database and will be rolled out progressively over a number of years.

NSW Police Force is one of the largest police forces in the world, and will be the first Australian law enforcement agency to procure Mark43’s solution. Mark43 currently works with over 100 public safety agencies in North America, including the Secret Service.
