New York REIT, Inc.’s $41 Million Sale of the Viceroy Hotel


Cadwalader represented New York REIT, Inc. in the $41 million sale of the Viceroy Hotel, a boutique hotel located at 120 West 57th Street in Manhattan.

NYRT is a real estate investment trust that owns income-producing commercial real estate, including office and retail properties, located in New York City.

In January 2017, NYRT’s shareholders adopted a plan of liquidation pursuant to which NYRT is liquidating and winding down and, in connection therewith, is seeking to sell its assets in an orderly fashion to maximize shareholder value.

Cadwalader advised New York REIT in several other property sales as part of its liquidation plan.
