Marlin Home’s acquisition of The Décor Corporation

HWL Ebsworth has advised the shareholders of The Décor Corporation on its sale to Marlin Home. The transaction completed on 10 February 2017 for an undisclosed sum.

Décor, a privately held company based in Melbourne, has an internationally recognised brand name in household goods, particularly kitchen containers. Décor was established in Melbourne in 1958 and about 80 per cent of the products are designed and manufactured in Australia, which will continue after the sale. Décor’s trade partner coverage expands across many retail channels which include grocery, discount department stores, hardware, speciality stores and garden centres.

Marlin Home is a division of the Coast2Coast Capital group, based in South Africa. The deal is the second major acquisition for Marlin Home after acquiring homewares wholesaler, Albi, in 2016.
