Marco Nicolini and Riccardo Troiano are new Equity Partners of Alma STA.

The two new entries, both from Orrick, will strengthen the firm respectively in the Corporate M&A and Dispute resolution practices.

Marco Nicolini was a Member of the European Management Board of Orrick and Head of the Italian M&A and Private Equity team. He provides legal assistance in corporate transactions and mergers and acquisitions, is an international advisor to leading US multinationals and has assisted in listing processes on regulated markets, in the initial offer of shares to the public, in the placement of securities and bonds, also handling relationships with the relevant supervisory authorities (Consob and Borsa Italiana). He provided legal assistance to the Ministry of Economy and Finance in activities related to the recapitalization and capital strengthening of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena and the related privatization. He has acquired specific skills in the disposal processes of public companies by taking care of – among others – the privatization procedure and the listing of Telecom Italia, Mediocredito Centrale and Cofiri. Lastly, he advised CdP Venture in relation to the Relaunch Fund, Accelerators Fund and Tech Transfer Fund.

Riccardo Troiano before joining Alma STA was Head Partner of the Italian Litigation and Arbitration department of Orrick. He is a lawyer with consolidated experience in commercial and corporate law, civil procedural law and international private and procedural / arbitration law. In his long career he has dealt with issues and disputes of high economic and industrial importance, sometimes with significant impacts in specific sectors (rail, infrastructure and insurance). He was the protagonist of one of the most important judgments from the Suprime Constitutional Court in recent years, both for the audience of subjects involved (six million Italians) and for the direct effects on the state budget (16 billion euros). He was one of the founders of the Higher Institute of Arbitration Studies.

Together with Marco Nicolini and Riccardo Troiano, Andrea Rosi Piermartini, also from Orrick, will join Alma STA as a Partner, with specific experience in complex corporate operations, venture capital and corporate governance.

With their entry, the total number of Alma STA Partners will become seven.

Alessandra Quattrini and Riccardo Valle will be of counsels, the first manager of the administrative law practice with extensive experience in the field of tenders and infrastructures, and the second manager of the regulated sectors of Energy, Environment and Pharmaceuticals.

With the Associates – with extensive experience in various sectors of Employment (with Alessia Ciranna), Real Estate, Procurement, Contracts and Compliance -, the professionals who will join Alma STA will be 12 in total.
