Spanish insurance company Mapfre buy out its Brazilian joint venture business partner BB Seguridade from local insurance provider BB Mapfre for 2.4 billion reais (US$636 million).
MAPFRE, S.A. offers insurance services. The Company, through subsidiaries, provides health, life, homeowner’s, commercial, industrial risk, burial, accident, automobile, and third-party liability insurance policies. Mapfre, led by Antonio Huertas Mejias, Antonio Nunez Tovar and Ignacio Baeza Gomez operates in Europe and the Americas.
BB Seguridade Participacoes S.A. acts as a holding company investing in Insurance companies and as an Insurance broker. The Company, led by Jose Mauricio Pereira Coelho, Werner Romera Suffert and Antonio Rugero Guibo, offers insurance products, open pension plans, and special savings bonds. In 2017 BB Seguridade recorded $780 Million revenues.
