Lohmann & Rauscher’s Acquisition of Angiokard Medizintechnik

Hengeler Mueller advised Lohmann & Rauscher on the deal, while Gleiss Lutz has advised DMB Deutsche Mittelstand Beteiligungen.The internationally active developer, manufacturer and supplier of medical and hygiene products Lohmann & Rauscher (L&R) is expanding its expertise and product range in the field of OR set systems with the acquisition of the German company Angiokard Medizintechnik GmbH. L&R is thus strengthening its market position in the international hospital sector.

Angiokard Medizintechnik GmbH has been producing and distributing customised sets for cardiology, anaesthesia, angiography, cardiac surgery and intensive care since its foundation in 1986. With more than 30 years of experience in the industry, the German company with 132 employees and headquarter in Friedeburg/Lower Saxony is a recognised supplier, particularly in Germany, where it has a strong market position.

The multi-component OR set systems are produced in Germany in an economical and quality-assured manner and are put together according to requirements – type of operation and specific customer needs – and thus ensure efficient hospital processes.

Lohmann & Rauscher (L&R) is a leading international developer, manufacturer and supplier of first-class medical and hygiene products of the highest quality – from classic dressing materials to modern therapy and care systems. Formed in 1998 from the two companies Lohmann (founded in 1851) and Rauscher (founded in 1899), L&R has 170 years of expertise as a reliable problem solver for its customers. With more than 5,400 employees, 50 group companies and participations as well as more than 130 selected sales partners, L&R is represented in all important markets of the world and achieved a sales volume of more than 750 million euros in 2020. L&R locations with headquarters function are Rengsdorf (Germany) and Vienna (Austria).
