Little Tokyo Service Center’s Financing development of the Terasaki Budokan

Nixon Peabody clients Genesis LA Economic Growth Corporation and the Los Angeles Development Fund closed loans to Little Tokyo Service Center to facilitate development of the Terasaki Budokan, a 28,000-square-foot community facility providing programs for youth, families, and seniors.

The community center, located in downtown Los Angeles, aims to connect visitors to Japanese American culture and a vibrant, sustainable Little Tokyo. The new space will include basketball and volleyball courts, martial arts spaces, arts programming, youth activities, senior programs, and an outdoor garden.

Nixon Peabody helped to structure and close bridge loans and new markets tax credits financing on the transaction.

Genesis LA Economic Growth Corporation works with businesses, developers, and communities to champion economic development, job creation and community growth through urban revitalization.

The Nixon Peabody’s legal team was led by Los Angeles counsel Sonia Nayak (Picture) with assistance from Los Angeles associate Garth Bostic.
