Simpson Thacher has advised KKR in connection with the sale of Sentio Healthcare Properties to Kayne Anderson Real Estate Advisors (“KAREA”). Under the terms of the agreement, KAREA will acquire all of the outstanding shares of Sentio in an all-cash transaction based on an estimated total asset value of $825 million.
The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2017.
Sentio is a public, non-listed, real estate investment trust which invests exclusively in healthcare-related real estate, featuring a diversified portfolio of 34 senior housing and medical properties throughout the United States.
KAREA, the real estate private equity arm of Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, L.P., is a leading real estate private equity investor in off-campus student housing, senior housing and medical office buildings.
