In Colombia, Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría advised Italmatch Chemicals S.p.A. securing the authorization from the antitrust authority.
Italmatch Chemicals finalized the acquisition of the Chinese Jiayou Chemical, active in the antiscalant phosphonate business, from Ecolab Inc., the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services.
The deal includes: the acquisition of the entire antiscalant business and assets relating to phosphonate production and sales carried out by Jaiyou Chemical Co. (formerly part of Jianghai), located in the Changzhou area (China).
Italmatch Chemicals S.p.A. manufactures and distributes performance additives. It offers lube oils, metal working fluids (MWF), and additives; water and oil management products; reactive chemical intermediates; cosmetic grade raw materials; and flame retardants and plastic additives. The company, led by Sergio Iorio and Maurizio Turci is based in Genoa.
In February, the transaction recieved the authorization of Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (Colombian Antitrust Authority) in connection of the activities in the country.
