IK Investment Partners’ Acquisition of MDT Technologies


Görg acted as legal advisor to MDT technologies. White & Case advised IK Investment. Shearman & Sterling advised CAPZA as lender on the unitranche financing for the acquisition of MDT technologies.

IK Investment Partners, through IK VIII Fund, has reached an agreement to acquire a majority stake in MDT technologies GmbH from the Company’s founders.

IK Investment Partners is a Pan-European private equity firm focused on investments in the Nordics, DACH region, France, and Benelux. Since 1989, IK has raised more than €10 billion of capital and invested in over 130 European companies.

MDT, headquartered in Engelskirchen, Germany, was founded 25 years ago. Having entered the KNX market in 2009, MDT has become a leading manufacturer of smart building components, enabling the automation and control of multiple functions including heating, ventilation and lighting in both residential and commercial buildings.

CAPZA is an asset management company focused on private investments in European small and medium-sized companies. With more than 50 employees in Paris, Munich and Madrid, CAPZA Group manages assets of more than €3 billion for international institutional investors.
