HORIBA Europe’s Acquisition of BeXema

Dentons has advised HORIBA Europe GmbH on the deal.

HORIBA Europe GmbH executed the acquisition of BeXema GmbH, based in Barleben, Germany. This deal will enable HORIBA to respond to the need for complex development and test solutions for the growing alternative energy and electric vehicle market.  It will also gain strategically important access to an innovative manufacturer of power electronics, battery inverters and fuel cells.

HORIBA Europe GmbH is part of the Japanese HORIBA Group, which is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. The group employs more than 7,000 people in 27 countries worldwide, including approximately 600 in Europe. In Germany, HORIBA has 13 branches in addition to its headquarters in Oberursel, Hesse. The company manufactures and sells automotive emission measurement systems, environmental measurement equipment, a wide range of scientific analyzers, medical diagnostic analyzers and measurement equipment used in the semiconductor industry.

BeXema is an innovative growth company that produces dynamic power electronics used in inverters for high-performance battery storage, power sources for power-to-gas systems, as well as high-voltage test equipment for fuel cells and batteries.
