Healthscope’s Northern Beaches Hospital project

Gilbert + Tobin advised Healthscope on the State concession structuring, design, build, finance, operation and maintenance contracts for this ground-breaking hospital.

The Northern Beaches Hospital reaches operational readiness today, after almost four years of construction. It is one of the more significant investments in health infrastructure in recent times, and the first of its kind in terms of delivery model and payment structure.

The Northern Beaches Hospital, located in Frenchs Forest, will see acute services relocated from Mona Vale and Manly Hospitals and will form part of the broader Northern Beaches Health Service (NBHS).

The NBHS development involved the construction of a nine-storey hospital, which is built on a 6.5 hectare site, contains 488 beds, 1,400 car spaces and a helipad. Healthscope will provide public patient services for 20 years.

G+T advised Healthscope with a team including Alexander Danne (Picture), Special Counsel James Pomeroy, Senior Construction Counsel Penny Swain, Senior Lawyer Daniel Yim and Dylan Gardner.
