GSO Capital’s $4.5 Billion Fundraise

Kirkland & Ellis counseled GSO Capital Partners, the credit investment arm of The Blackstone Group, on the fundraising of $4.5 billion of committed capital for GSO Energy Select Opportunities Fund II.

The fund focuses on investment opportunities in the energy sector, primarily in North America.

GSO Capital Partners LP is a privately owned hedge fund sponsor. The firm primarily provides its services to pooled investment vehicles, corporations, insurance companies, banks, pension funds, endowments, foundations, family offices, and fund of funds. It seeks to invest in floating rate, senior secured loans-first lien and second line, senior secured bonds, subordinated debt, collateralized securities, corporate bonds, debt securities, equity such as warrants or options in middle market private companies.
