Grigory Rodchenkov v. Olga Zaytseva, Yana Romanova, Olga Vilukhina et al.

Patterson Belknap attorneys, along with co-counsel Jim Walden of Walden Macht & Haran LLP, filed a lawsuit in New York state court on behalf of Dr. Grigory Rodchenkov, the whistleblower in Russia’s 2014 Olympic doping scheme.

The case is a countersuit to the libel lawsuit three athletes filed previously against Dr. Rodchenkov. A motion to dismiss that lawsuit was also filed today.

Today’s complaint alleges that the libel lawsuit is an improper and unlawful form of harassment under New York State’s anti-SLAPP law. That law prevents individuals from intimidating those who are exercising their First Amendment rights through the court system.
