Google’s $163 Million Acquisition of Pointy


Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati advised Pointy on the deal.

Google announced it has acquired Dublin-based retail hardware provider Pointy, which produces small devices that retailers can plug into their barcode scanner and automatically upload their inventory direct to the web for advertising purposes.

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close in the coming weeks. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
