Gimv NV’s acquisition of WEMAS Absperrtechnik GmbH from NORD Holding

NORD Holding Unternehmensbeteiligungsgesellschaft mbH, Hanover, has sold its subsidiary WEMAS Absperrtechnik GmbH, Gütersloh, to Gimv, along with the subsidiary’s management team.

The execution of the transaction is still subject to approval by the cartel authorities.

WEMAS is a market leader in the German-speaking countries in passive traffic engineering. Due to a high depth of added value and a strong service competence, the company was able to expand its market position significantly in recent years and increase its international activities. Sales are predominantly by specialist dealers and to road safety companies. WEMAS has 120 employees at the company headquarters in Gütersloh, and achieved a turnover of € 33.7 million in the past financial year.

NORD Holding acquired a majority interest in WEMAS in 2011, as part of a succession solution. Key milestones were the successful development of a management team, improvement of operational performance, as well as innovations in products, processes, and services.
