George Borovas Appointed as Board Member of World Nuclear Association

Shearman & Sterling partner George Borovas (Tokyo-Project Development & Finance) has been elected to the Board of the World Nuclear Association for a two year term effective April 25, 2017.

The World Nuclear Association is one of the largest nuclear industry associations representing all aspects of the nuclear industry worldwide. The membership comprises senior-level executives and key market participants from major nuclear power companies across the US, the UK, Canada, France, China, Japan, Russia, Korea, Brazil and Sweden.

The head of Shearman & Sterling’s Global Nuclear Group and a partner in the firm’s Project Development & Finance Group, Mr. Borovas has substantial experience advising lenders, governments and sponsors on the financing and construction of nuclear power projects all over the world. Prior to becoming a nuclear energy lawyer, he worked as an engineer for a nuclear power plant engineering firm.
