General Aerospace acquires AL-KO Vehicle Technology’s Actuation Systems division

Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek has advised Alois Kober GmbH on the deal

The plants in Zellberg im Zillertal and a plant in Sura Mica, Romania, will be acquired by General Aerospace GmbH, Eschbach. The transaction will close on December 31, 2016.

Alois Kober GmbH intends to divest itself of peripheral businesses with the sale as part of its global expansion path and to concentrate more on AL-KO Vehicle Technology’s core business. Some 150 employees in Austria and Romania are affected by the sale. According to General Aerospace, they will all be taken over. AL-KO Vehicle Technology intends to maintain close business relationships with the actuator manufacturer.

AL-KO Vehicle Technology merged with U.S. group Dexter Axle about a year ago to form DexKo Global, the world’s largest axle manufacturer. Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek provided extensive legal advice to AL-KO KOBER SE as the parent company of Alois Kober GmbH.

General Aerospace was established in 2003 and is a world leader in the design and manufacture of parts for the aviation industry. The company is headquartered in Eschbach in Baden-Württemberg and operates sites in the U.S., in Russia, Australia, China, and the United Arab Emirates.
