Foss Maritime’s $100 Million Deal with Nichols Brothers Boat Builders

Blank Rome team represented Foss Maritime on the deal

Nichols Brothers Boat Builders (NBBB), closed a $100 Million agreement with Foss Maritime to build four new 90-ton bollard pull tractor tugs.

The contract has an option for six additional tugs and marks the first agreement between the two companies.

Foss plans for the vessels to operate on the West Coast, performing ship-handling duties within ports and harbors.

The first four vessels will be delivered beginning winter 2020 through winter 2021.

Based in Seattle, WA, Foss Maritime is a major American shipping company founded in 1889 that owns and operates one of the nation’s largest coastal tug and barge fleets. These new Z-Drive tractor tugs incorporate Foss’ emphasis on environmentally focused designs and structural and technological upgrades.
