Fir Tree Securing Board Seat at Ultra Petroleum

Schulte represented hedge fund manager Fir Tree Partners in connection with entering into a Cooperation Agreement and securing a Board seat at Ultra Petroleum Corp.

Fir Tree’s Evan Lederman was named a new director of the board, and Fir Tree will work with Ultra Petroleum to find a replacement for its chairman and CEO, who has stepped down.

Fir Tree owns about 20 percent of stock in Ultra Petroleum, a Houston-based oil and gas exploration and production company focused on developing its natural gas reserves in the Green River Basin of Wyoming.

Fir Tree Partners is a privately owned hedge fund sponsor. The firm , led by Jeffrey David Tannenbaum, Donald Patrick McCarthy, Ben Ghriskey, Andrew David Fredman and David M. Sultan, primarily provides its services to pooled investment vehicles.
