Ferbasa’s $244 Million acquisition of BW Guirapa I SA

Demarest advised Ferbasa SA on the deal

Ferbasa SA finalized the acquisition of BW Guirapa I SA, which owns an up to 170-MW wind power complex.

Under the deal, Febarsa is now acquiring all the shares in the complex held by local companies Santander Investimentos (87.13%) and Brazil Wind (12.87%).

The Guirapa project was awarded in a 2011 reserve energy auction and has a total production of 81 average megawatts (MWa). It is located in the state of Bahia and is comprised of seven wind farms.

Cia de Ferro Ligas da Bahia – Ferbasa (Ferbasa S.A.) explores for and mines mineral deposits, and manufactures different types of iron metals. The company, led by Rafael Machado Tibo, Marcio Lopes Fernandes De Barros and Ana Paula Fontes Mesquita De Oliveira, in 2016 recorded $343 Million Revenues.
