Federal Government’s Takeovers Panel

Clayton Utz partner and Corporate/M&A national practice group leader Rory Moriarty (Picture) has been appointed to the Federal Government’s Takeovers Panel.

The appointment is for a three-year term commencing 30 April.

Rory is one of three new appointments to the Panel, announced on 29 March. An experienced corporate lawyer, Rory acts for clients across a range of industry sectors, advising on strategic Australian and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, capital raisings and governance issues.

The Takeovers Panel is a peer review body and the primary forum for resolving disputes about a takeover bid until the bid period has ended. The Panel will have 43 members with the new appointments.
