Sidley has advised edotco Group (edotco) on its strategic partnership with Bangladesh-based conglomerate Getco. Getco, through its subsidiary Greencon Tower Company Ltd., becomes a 30 percent shareholder and strategic partner with edotco in Bangladesh and, together, will apply for a tower sharing license as part of a wider plan to provide next-generation telecommunications infrastructure to meet Bangladesh’s growing connectivity needs.
Established in 2012, edotco is the first regional and integrated telecommunications infrastructure services company in Asia, providing end-to-end solutions in the tower services sector from tower leasing, co-locations, build-to-suit, energy, transmission and operations and maintenance.
edotco operates and manages a regional portfolio of over 27,700 towers, as of the first quarter of 2018, across core markets of Malaysia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Sri Lanka and Pakistan, with 16,390 towers directly operated by edotco and a further 10,820 towers managed through a range of services provided. edotco strives to deliver outstanding performance in telecommunications infrastructure services and solutions.
