D-Orbit secured a €15 million financing from the European investment bank.
Proceeds will finance the development, assembly, testing and the launch of satellite subsystems and entire spacecrafts. The launch itself will be carried out by specialised launch service providers. The R&D programme includes the years from 2020 to 2023.
D-Orbit is an Italian New Space company providing solutions for satellite design, development, launch, commissioning and decommissioning. Founded in 2011, D-Orbit currently employs approximately 35 people. The firm is based in Como, Italy and in 2018 recorded €4 million revenues.
MJH Alma advised D-Orbit on the deal with a team led by partner Roberto Nigro (Picture) and including associate Sveva Ricci.
Gianni Origoni Grippo Cappelli & Partners advised the European Investment Bank on the deal with a team including partner Giuseppe De Simone and senior associate Alfonso Parziale (both Finance), partner Luca Giannini and associate Giulia Martino (both Corporate).
