CVC Capital Partners VII’s €15.5 billion Fundraising

Simpson Thachers and Mourant Ozannes advised on the transaction

Simpson Thacher represented CVC Capital Partners (“CVC”) in connection with the formation and raising of CVC Capital Partners VII (“Fund VII”), CVC’s latest flagship fund for private equity investments in Europe and North America.

The fund closed with a hard cap of €15.5 billion. Together with the commitments of CVC and its employees, Fund VII will have over €16 billion of equity capital available to invest. It is the largest European fundraising on record.

The Simpson Thacher team advising CVC was led by London Partner Gareth Earl (Picture) and included Associates Dan Lloyd, Amy Fox and Nigel Crowe.
