Oceanwide Resort Community HI LLC, a subsidiary of China Oceanwide Holdings Group Co., Ltd., closed a deal to purchase more than 500 acres of land in Kapolei on the west coast of Oahu, Hawaii.
The land will be developed as a master-planned community including variety of residential, commercial and recreational uses. The land is adjacent to the Ko Olina Resort, where China Oceanwide has previously acquired two oceanfront development sites that will be used to build luxury resorts including both luxury branded hotel rooms and residential condominiums.
Nixon Peabody represented China Oceanwide in this deal and in the two prior acquisitions of land in the Ko Olina Resort. China Oceanwide has expanded its presence in the U.S. over the past two years, acquiring and developing real property in a number of cities including New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Sonoma, California.
